What do the Parents and students say about us???
“I have been at McCarthy's Taekwondo and Self-Defense for almost 12 years now. Let me just say it has been the best 12 years of my life, and the journey is just beginning. The teachings of self-defense, history, basic and advanced techniques, forms, etc. are so remarkable, not to mention the Senkotiros stick fighting classes, the fun never stops. I love every class and every lesson that I get from Grandmaster McCarthy, even if its a life lesson. He has helped me grow into the strong individual I am under his wonderful humble teachings of tradition, respect, determination, and perseverance. He is not only my Grandmaster, I look to him as a father figure in my life as well. He is a blessing to all of us!
McCarthy's Taekwondo and Self-Defense is #1!”

“I am an old student of Grand Master McCarthy's (1979-1983) and very proud of his accomplishments, I trained under Grand Master McCarthy while I was stationed on Ft Bragg. I was in 7th Special Forces and joined Grand Master McCarty Tae Kwon Do class on Bragg. I already had a black belt in a another system and Grand Master Brown & Grand Master McCarty took me under their wings and taught me tae Kwon Do.I earned my 3rd degree belt under Grand Master McCarty around around 1983. I have trained with many Masters but Grand Master McCarty holds a special place in my heart for his dedication, wisdom and the many times he would take to class to his home to train us and taking my skills to the next level. I want to thank Grand Master McCarthy and will also be a student of Grand Master McCarthy...”

“I have come to believe that Taekwondo is one of the best activities to participate in and learn. Not just because of learning Self-Defense but because you build up stamina, agility, endurance, confidence and learn discipline.
I feel McCarthy's Taekwondo/Self Defense is one of the best schools in Central Texas. Since my course of study I feel I can really defend myself.
I recommend McCarthy's Tkd because you get what you pay for.”

“As a concerned Parent and upon researching various Self-Defense Schools in the area. I enrolled my daughter in the Program at McCarthy's Taekwondo/Self Defense.
The precise and detailed information as to the School's purpose, policy, criteria, assessment, expectations, and Community involvement as it relate to Former, Instructors, Students Parents and Visitors was all key to selecting this Facility for my daughter.
Some Speci*** attributes I share as follows:
- Daughter's personal development in character
- Adaptation in overcoming internal and external obstacles
- Learning from and teaching others
- Physical conditioning/ development
- Educational encouragement (Secular and in-program) at all grade levels
- Input (effort) to achieve output (positive results)
- Family support and involvement
Thus, it is well worth the time and other personal adjustments to partake in the curriculum at McCarthy's Taekwondo/Self Defense.”

“Taking classes at McCarthy's Taekwondo and Self Defense has been such a great experience for me. I decided to take classes to get back into shape and to learn to defend myself. I have learned not only how to defend my self but to be more confident and to stand up for myself. You get so much more out of taking these classes than what you expect. Not only is it a great workout but it is also a great way to learn the importance of honor, respect, and tradition. I will be signing my children up for classes also as soon as they are old enough so they can also learn the values of honesty, respectfulness, and tradition.”

“Being fascinated with martial arts myself, I understood the values it offers to an individual physically and mentally, so. I decided to enroll my son knowing how important these values can be in life and McCarthy’s TKD was my first and only choice. When he first started he loved everything about it from the students to the instructors and especially GM McCarthy. Unfortunately, in the first month he was in a horrible car accident and sustained a broken femur and we had to stop all activities. After 5 months, we went back and he continued where he left off. Being the great school it is, it game my son everything he needed to move forward and 3 years later we continue this journey. GM not only made my son stronger, but has taught us how important honor, tradition, commitment, and respect is.”
